ABOUT ME

My name is Chasẻ Mikesell. I’m wayyy older than 17 but not quite 19. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I graduated from high school in 2015. While in high school, I wrestled and participated in choir. Some of my interests include listening to music, playing music and writing music. I play the guitar, piano and drums. I also like long boarding, cliff jumping, and hanging out with my friends. Some of my favorite artists are Cloud Cult, Sleeping with Sirens, Death Cab for Cutie, Mayday Parade, Jason Mraz and Panic! At the Disco. I enjoy quite the array of spicy chips, vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup, and I can’t turn down my step-mom’s amazingly spectacular chocolate chip cookies! :D

I’m looking forward to this next chapter of my life, serving a mission. I’ve been called to serve a two year mission in the Caribbean for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I want to help others in any way I can and become a better person from my experiences.

I have a perfectly imperfect family. Between my four parents and my five siblings, the fun never ends. I love ‘em all (and not just because I have to) and can testify that they are all pretty rad people. (:

Picture of my family taken in 2013 just before my oldest brother left for his mission to Hong Kong. Back: Alec, who is currently serving a mission in the Philippines, my step-mom Kelly, my dad, my brother Justin. Front: Me, my little brother Brandon and my sister Kayla.

My baby sister Sam was born in March 2015. Can't believe she'll be 2 1/2 years old when I return from the mission.

People often ask me, “Why are you serving a mission?” So, to answer that question, I’m serving a mission because I love the Lord, and I want to serve Him and help others. Whether it’s teaching Jesus Christ’s gospel or providing free labor for someone in need, I want to serve. I have always felt like devoting two years of my life to God and His children is something I need to do in my life.

Lastly, I’d like to bare you my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I know that what I’m doing is also what God wants me to do, and I know that He will be with me every step of the way. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and is completely true. I can’t wait to share my testimony with the amazing people of the Caribbean.
